Leading singer Hadiqa Kayani has confirmed that her song released on July 13 with Turkish singer Ali Tolga to pay homage to the martyrs of 1931 in occupied Kashmir has been removed by YouTube. According to Kashmir Media Service, Hadiqa Kayani had sung a song with Turkish singers Ali Tolga Demertas and TorgiEverian on the occasion of Kashmir Martyrs’ Day in memory of Kashmiri martyrs on July 13, 1931, in which tributes were paid to the martyrs of Kashmir.
Hadiqa Kayani has confirmed through her Instagram account that her song released on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day has been removed by YouTube a few hours ago. “It seems that there is a deliberate attempt to suppress the voice, but we cannot be silenced because our message is peace and love,” she said.
In the message, she tagged a handle called Kashmir Sweets and wrote that the international civil society and Kashmir Sweets are trying to upload it back soon. The song, which lasted about 4 minutes, also featured videos and photos of atrocities by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. The song was released in Turkish, Urdu, and Kashmiri, which became popular right away.
