“The Pakistan Army effectively responded to Indian fire,” the military’s media wing said. Earlier, in a media conference, ISPR Leader Maj Gen Iftikhar said that following the UN Secretary-General’s request for a ceasefire breach at the LoC due to the current coronavirus pandemic, India’s “cowardly” tactics have persisted, with 1,927 cross-border outbreaks of violence occurring.
“They intentionally attacked innocent Kashmiris living along the border,” he added, adding that 16 people had been martyred and 58 injured. Of the martyred, five were girls, seven were women and four were men. Forty-one children and 50 people were wounded.
“We’ve used heavy weapons every time. The Pakistan Army reacted successfully to any of these attacks, but being a skilled army, we’re just attacking military targets and posts from where these violations occur,” said Maj Gen Iftikhar.
