The milk rates have been raised by Rs.10 per liter by the Dairy Farmers Association Karachi which was against the orders of the Commissioner of Karachi.

The report says that a certain group namely, the Haji Akhtar Group has announced the hike in prices of milk but the milk wholesale association has denied the risen rate.

The angry retailer has asked the commissioner of Karachi to take some serious notice against such mafia and control the prices of the milk and there should be made a rule that the increase in the rates would only be allowed with any official notice.

While talking to the media, the City administration has said that the government has set the prices of milk at Rs. 94. However, the milk at the rate of Rs. 110 is being sold by some of the Dairy farmers and whoever is selling it against the official orders is being warned that a notice might be taken against them.

The Commissioner of Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani has clearly denied the reports of increasing rates of milk and said that the people who are abiding the rules fixed by the officials might be sentenced for six months and a certain penalty would be imposed on them.

Furthermore, another official Muhammad Ismail Rahu- Minister of Agriculture, Sindh has assured that he would have a talk to the Daily Farmers and will not allow them to raise the prices of milk.

He also requested the people to submit their complaints to their concerned deputy Commissioners in case of being sold the milk on the higher rates than that of the official ones.
